Since 1989, the spirit of the company has been to entertain, challenge and provoke. We achieve this through creation, development, presentation and production of courageous projects with high calibre artists on both the local and national stage. In addition to our ongoing productions, we annually present a visionary heroine in our Femmes Fatales series. Past heroines showcased in this series include Marie Brassard, Denise Clarke and Karen Hines. We also publish an annual news magazine, The Flying Monkey, which is a forum for debate and discussion regarding controversial issues effecting the performing arts in Canada. Finally, we host a Playwright In Residence program which is two years in duration. At the conclusion of this residency for a local playwright, Ruby Slippers Theatre produces the premiere production in Vancouver BC. If you enjoy theatre with courage, heart and brains, please consider becoming a member FOR FREE by simply emailing us your address.
